The advantages of installing a covered riding arena in your sports club, or of covering an existing riding arena thanks to some Tent structures, are multiple and easily understood.

To ensure that the installation of a covered riding arena provides a unique experience for the riders who use it, the equestrian center must participate in defining all the relevant details and finishes with the builder.
In this article we see what are the correct dimensions for a riding school, what are the characteristics of the sand, the permits for opening a riding school and the prices.

Tent structures for covered riding arenas: an effective solution
The most common materials for making a roof are steel, wood and aluminum.
Choosing to cover your riding arena with a tent structure, made of steel or aluminum, and of the appropriate size, means obtaining a lightweight and high-performance construction that, at the same time, is suitable for being subjected to heavy loads such as snow and wind.
In particular, the aluminum tensile structures They are highly advantageous compared to steel and wooden structures because they are not affected by corrosive agents; in fact, they maintain their physical and mechanical characteristics over time, resulting in a reduction in the need for maintenance.
Steel tent structures, on the other hand, are heavier, typically made of large iron tubes; however, they offer a long-lasting advantage, being easy to assemble and dismantle quickly.
Both of these types of AmarantoIdea tensile structures have a covering in coated textile material (PVC).
What are the characteristics of sand for indoor riding arenas and what is it used for?
La silica sand For the floor of an indoor or outdoor riding arena, proper design is essential. This is intended to protect and preserve the horse's health, which would otherwise suffer from physical ailments on unsuitable terrain.
Silica sand allows you to obtain a elastic and compact base, draining and able to absorb the stresses to which it is subjected, it also does not require excessive maintenance, maintaining its original characteristics over time.
After making sure you have a solid, even base, you can move on to making the indoor carpet.
There are two possible solutions for the underlayment:
- get a new subfloor: in this case we proceed with a stabilized layer of finely crushed gravel and sand material.
- replace an old bottomIf there is already a carpet, however, it will be enough to remove the surface layer and leave the deeper part intact, which will have settled and compacted over time, becoming an ideal support base.
After that you can move forward by laying out one layer of about 10 cm with silica sand, which does not mix with the underlying soil but creates a compact and elastic carpet.
What permits are needed to open a riding stable?
Our tent structures, used for covering or building a riding arena, are subject to the UNI EN13782 standard, concerning free construction.
The possibility of constructing a project under the free building regime streamlines and simplifies the bureaucratic procedures compared to the construction of projects that do not fall into this category.
It is therefore not necessary to request a permit, but there are other aspects to take into consideration such as: compliance with building regulations, anti-seismic standards, health and hygiene conditions, landscape constraints, etc.
